Our Virtual Interior Design Process

Step 1 - The Design Brief

On booking, our clients fill out an easy form to let us know about the space, about them and what they want to achieve. We communicate through our project management app for an efficient streamlined process over the 6 week design collaboration period. This includes text and video capability. With no long calls or meetings to try schedule, our clients can their time to make decisions and enjoy the process at a time that suits them.

Step 2 - Personalised Design Process

We create mood boards, drawings, 2D illustrations and more throughout the concept and detailed design phases to help us visualise the project.

Step 3 - Design Review

Concept plans are reviewed to make sure our clients are happy with the direction before the designs are finalised. We provide up to two revisions during this stage of the process. Revisions include feedback and tweaks to the design.

Step 4 - Finishing Touches

Designs are finalised and deliverables send to client.

Step 5 - Shopping Simplified

Shopping is made easy, where all items from multiple suppliers can be purchased through the one personalised cart, as budget allows. All orders are placed to correct size and specifications and delivered straight to your door. Here you can avail of exclusive discounts from our trusted brands and suppliers.

Step 6 - Install

Virtual clients can execute the design on their own time with a full guide on where to paint or place each item on delivery, for a beautifully finished and cohesive space.

Deliverables

At the end of our journey, our clients have design boards with layout plans, visuals of furniture and styling selections, scaled elevations showing exactly where to place each piece and a shopping list with specifications to make that dream space become a reality.

I would highly recommend Lana Mari Designs for anyone doing a house renovation, extension or new build. She is amazing to work with and highly efficient in all aspects of her work. What is the difference between Interior styling and design?

Styling follows the same
process as design, but it focuses on the finishing touches of a room. We review your space and handpick items that will complete the look.

It includes;

What types of spaces can be designed remotely?

From large open plan living to guest bathrooms and more, Lana Mari's design services can be engaged to transform any space in your home.

For Kitchens and Bathrooms, we focus on finishes and entire room concept and design. Building contractors and suppliers will need to finalise layout taking into consideration plumbing and electrics.

What do I need to start my design project?

To ensure your project's final designs align with your vision and objectives, it is important to come to the project with a clear idea on what you like and what you don't like. This can be achieved through a collection of design inspiration that appeals to you, showcasing your style preferences. We will also require detailed photographs and measurements of the space to kick off the project.

How long does the virtual process take?

On booking, once the project brief is completed and sent to us, we work together to complete the design within 3 weeks. We provide a further 2 weeks support post design.

How can I be sure I can execute the design properly?

Our design deliverables include a video presentation, elevations and guides on how and where to place all pieces within the design to make sure there is no confusion on how to bring your vision and goals to life.

What if I want my whole house designed?

We recommend that you start with one or two rooms or spaces to get a feel for the process. If you still want to transform the entire house, simply go to Project Enquiry and submit your request for review.

I have a building contractor, how does remote design work with them?

For all electrical, structural, plumbing, or mechanical work, we recommend consulting with your contractor or bathroom/kitchen supplier. While we offer descriptive details and designs, we do not provide or supply construction materials. Our core focus is on providing concepts and dimensions, it is up to your contractor to read and implement the designs.

Please note that while our drawings and designs are to scale using measurements provided, we cannot fully dimension them as we are not physically present to confirm measurements on site.

What is the difference between Full Service and Virtual Design?

Full Service Interior Design involves larger scale projects and include in-person consultations, comprehensive project management, site visits, furniture procurement, and hands-on installation.

Virtual Interior Design offers a more flexible, remote approach for one space at a time to create custom design plans and shopping lists that can be implemented on your own as time and budget allow.

How much does your design services cost?

We are delighted to offer fixed design fees on a per room basis, allowing clients to know from the outset what the service will cost, with no hidden fees or hourly rates. Virtual design fees range from €625 to €345 depending on room type. Select 'Book Now' to see our full virtual packages list.

For Full Service Interior Design, we charge a fee that varies based on the project’s complexity and scope. In general, Design Services typically account for approximately 10% of your overall budget. For Full Service, once we receive your project details, we will provide a more accurate estimate tailored to your specific needs.

What budget do I need for furniture and decor?

Budget for your project will need to consider our design fee, furniture and decor and any painting/construction materials and costs.

Furniture and decor can vary greatly considering the size of the room, quality of products, the materials and brands desired. Below are an example of ranges for furniture and decor only with a blank canvas;

Kitchen: €3,000–€7,500 (not including cabinets/countertop, just furnishings and accessories)
Family Room: €10,000-€30,000
Entry: €1,500–€8,000
Bedroom: €5,000–€15,000
Dining Room: €5,000–€20,000
Office: €3,000–€10,000

We work with you on your budget, however as noted above, our minimum overall budget for a project would be €2,500, (Small space & design fee) This allows for a quality design and a high finish result.

Can we use items I own in the design?

We consider budget, goals and existing items that you love as part of the design brief. We then aim to bring what you have and love now together with what you envision your space to become.

If I don't like my design, can I get a refund?

Due to the nature of this service, with digital intellectual property, research and creative design time, no refunds are provided.

Are my own ideas incorporated into the design?

Yes, we love that! The more information you can provide on your style preferences and requirements the better. We consistently provide collaboration opportunities to gain feedback to ensure the end result not only delivers what you want but also exceeds expectations.
