Our family has been blending artistry, construction and design for over six decades.
Simply put, it's in the blood.
Lana learned about great design from an early age. Her father, PJ Dunbar, is of the leading architectural joiners in Ireland before and has forever inspired Lana to get involved in design.
PJ curates detailed millwork and innovative interior architecture that can be seen in Dublin's top bars and hospitality such as Cafe en Seine on Dawson Street all the way to international projects across Italy, Spain, Norway, the US and more recently in many exquisite private homes. He would often talk to Lana about his work as he laid out his latest sketches and ideas on the kitchen table of their home. With daily visits to the workshop, Lana would marvel at the craft and this nurtured her innate curiosity of art and design. Next door, Lana would watch her Grandmother, Bridie Dunbar, on an almost daily basis, change and evolve her home, with what would become unending layers of wallpaper, all of which she hung herself. So naturally Lana did the same, constantly designing her enviroment. She even managed to infiltrate the homes of her primary and secondary school friends, and wider family, designing where-ever possible.
A family full of artists, architects and engineers, this love for property and design continued to flourish with her marriage to Emmet Gregan, a family with a long lineage of successful trades and construction companies.
Over the past ten years in particular, Lana has worked with her father, families and associated partners on each of the renovation and commercial fit out projects, to successfully achieve the desired goals and further develop a strong working relationship.
With a Bachelors degree in Business Studies from Dublin City University, Lana honed her creative and entrepreneurial skills through the creation of both local and national businesses that ranged across fashion, beauty, fitness and technology. Lana's main roles in all spanned across Project Management, Product and System Design, Fit Out, Graphic Design, Operations and an all encompassing Creative Director.
Since Lana made her exit to focus on her passions further, she has trained and studied tirelessly with interior designers from all over the world. This unique background has paved the way for an interior design business that is not only innovative and creative, but is also highly process and systems driven to ensure that a premium customer experience is provided, every time.
Today, Lana's reputation continues to grow, using these multidisciplinary skills to create beautiful and exciting spaces for her clients. With her down-to-earth yet professional approach, Lana enables clients to feel comfortable about expressing their opinions, desires and dreams, for the ultimate collaboration. And with that, she and her team of partners work together to make these dreams become a reality.
Our process is split into 4 phases;
Phase 1 - The Brief
At the heart of every successful project is making sure that the designs truly capture our client's needs and aspirations. We kick off the project with an on-site consultation where we take the time to get to know how our client envisions using the space. We dive into the details through the site tour or floor plans, and photos, making sure we grasp all the essentials like timelines, budget, and any structural or administrative requirements. After this deep dive, a proposal is sent outlining the brief as we understand it, with an estimated budget, for the furniture, fixtures, accessories and the associated design fee.
Where deeper renovation is required, we are happy to recommend partners and obtain their estimate pricing for construction services, where appropriate.
Phase 2 - Concept
Interpreting the detailed brief we will present the concept designs, consisting of our ideas for floor plans, with the proposed furniture layouts and any structural changes that may be required. We include mood board presentations containing samples of all proposed finishes as well as imagery of suggested furniture and joinery concepts. This can be a very collaborative stage and we actively encourage our clients to give as much feedback as possible to ensure we are aligned on direction.
Phase 3 - Detailed Design
Having signed off on all of the concept designs we move forward to the design development and detail design stage. All final drawings will be presented, along with all final finishes, curated art and accessories for clients to approve. At this stage we will also present a fully itemised breakdown of costs in line with the agreed budget, ready for purchasing.
Phase 4 - Execution
The schedule of works will be outlined and agreed.
With all onsite requirements met, works will commence and we will attend regular site meetings to ensure our designs are being carried out to their exact specifications and that the project is progressing and installed as planned. Continuous updates will be provided to the client, and we will take charge of overseeing the snagging process during its designated period. This comprehensive approach aims to provide our clients with the assurance and peace of mind necessary to enjoy their project or property.

Client Testimonials
We have been working with Lana Mari Designs over the past few months on a house extension and renovation in our Dublin home and we have been so impressed with Lana’s professionalism, work ethic and approach. Our project is a self-build so it has been amazing to have Lana on board as interior designer. She has a brilliant eye for detail and picked up from a very early stage exactly what we wanted to achieve in terms of house design and interiors while also bearing in mind our budget and helping us to keep abreast of timing, as there has been a lot of moving parts. Lana has been a wonderful help to us and has taken so much stress out of this project by also selecting, sourcing and ordering products such as tiles, flooring, furnishing and even matching pictures/towels/utensils which fit in perfectly with our agreed vision for the house. Having Lana on board has meant we have a lot more time to focus on finalising the build. I would highly recommend using Lana Mari Designs for any sort of house project - big or small.

I would highly recommend Lana Mari Designs for anyone doing a house renovation, extension or new build. She is amazing to work with and highly efficient in all aspects of her work. We are doing an upstairs extension and full downstairs renovation in our home in Dublin and are under time pressure to get the project done but Lana has made the process so smooth for us and stress-free. We met Lana initially to discuss ideas for the house but were happy then to leave it to Lana to come up with the designs which reflected exactly what we wanted for the different rooms. Lana understands precisely what we want to achieve from this project and is very mindful of budget. Lana has kept us in the loop at all stages of the design and has done a wonderful job in picking out colour schemes, furnishing, flooring and everything else in between!
